Ugh! This whole trusting God with your life concept is really hard. It’s like being in a dark black box. BLAH! Lately, God has been dealing with me on the concept of:
Provision
Last week, I told my first born that I was going to take him to the coffee shop. Right before heading out he asks “ Are you going to get me something while we are there?”. That question really irritated me. I looked at him and said “ Do you trust me? Why would I take you somewhere and not care for you?”. As soon as I said it – I felt a tug in my heart like -> “Umm Lonisa – yea that is how you are.”. I couldn’t help, but side eye my own self – my whole entire life actually. I ended up taking the kids to the coffee shop and not only feeding them – but being able to have a beyond fulfilling experience with them – thanks to God’s provision. The kids ended up:
- Drinking Hot Chocolate with sprinkles
- Eating Donuts
- Meeting a local artist and getting a lesson on her painting journey
- Having a close up view of a predator hawk being chased away by Robins!
- A gentleman at the coffee shop taught us about the distress calls that small birds make when a predator bird is nearby. We were soo amazed!
- Doing a quick Science Experiment
That was more than what we expected!
Then the next day – I told my husband (Josh) that I was heading out to go buy one of our kids a bike. It was going to be about $200. Josh (husband) then departs for his neighborhood bike ride. 10 mins later (if that) he comes into the house and goes “Babe, there is a garage sale a few houses down that has a bike and a whole set of fishing rods!”. I immediately am like:
Whoa, What Is Going On!
We grabbed the kiddies and made our way to the garage sale. We ended up getting:
- The Bike
- The Fishing Rods (4 of them) with the bait box and a cooler thingy
- Getting fishing gear has been on the to do list for quite some time
- A Snugli Hiking Baby Carrier
- I’ve been getting more into nature and hiking! So this was just perfect!
- A Table
All of the above was purchased for about $40 total. Now if that is not provision! I was so elated and thankful for God setting us up like this. So much so that I kept telling the garage sale hosts how I was JUST about to leave to get a bike and BAM – there they appeared. For me this was a huge deal because we did not seek the garage sale out &
The Timing Had To Be Just Right

I say it time and time again that although I am thankful for a steady income there is nothing like God’s favor! Favor in this case showed up as a HUGE discount and time saver. If you are in a season (like me) where you are wondering if God has been hearing and seeing your needs & desires-> please keep believing that God is aligning things behind the scenes for your highest good and in accordance with his plan. Check out Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

If you have any “random” provision reports to share – I’d love to read about it in the comments!
